Phone connection
OK so before we start hitting the battery blame I have had periodic phone disconnect messages come up where I hit reconnect and it links back up. I don't have any other gremlins and this does not happen all of the time. I recall after they changed my alternator I had to repair the phone as all of the info was gone. I will see what the dealer take is on this when I bring the car in for the new glove box in a few weeks.
Maybe the phone itself. I use a Samsung cell phone that is in connection with Tracfone. I buy minutes on an annual basis for $99.00 per year, a great bargain.
While the Samsung Android will connect in other vehicles, I can not get to connect in the Jaguar XKR.
Seems to be a problem either with the phone connecting to the Jaguar which is a 2009 MY and I have no problem with my 2015 Corvette C7 pairing the phone to the C7 electronics.

I have a Samsung Galaxy5 that pairs to my XKR without problems. Unfortunately the phone book feature doesn't work as it only displays the numbers. The Jag seems to have a problem decoding and displaying the letters for the names. From time to time when the car is started, it displays a window saying the phone is not connected. Since unlike my wife, I don't need a phone to drive I don't do anything with it. As I have discovered, the Jag is lying, the phone works fine to both make and receive calls.
For 2 months I couldn't get my Blackberry Z30 to connect after numerous tries. I would try every week at least once or twice.
Then one day I was bored and tried again and it just connected automatically. Too weird and now it works perfectly. I never have a problem with it connecting Bluetooth to anything else.
I would walk away from it take a break and keep trying.

OK out today to play a round of golf. Takes me 30 mins each way to get to the golf course. 50-60 mph type highway. Phone hooks up no problem and stays connected both to and from the golf course. Phone is a Samsung Galaxy 3 on Verizon network. When it is paired it also loads all of my contacts. So no problem today.
I've never had any problems with my HTC ONE. The wife has never had any problems with her Galaxy S5 or her S7.
The kids however......... both have cRapples and both have a heck of a time.

While I normally don't have any issues with Bluetooth connectivity between my '07 XK and my iPhone 5s, this thread has made me think about those times that I have had problems, and I think there may be a pattern, and possible culprits.
Issue #1 - Sometimes, when I restart the car (after initially starting it to back it out of the garage to get access to something, shutting it off, and then starting it a few minutes later), it says it can't connect to the phone.
Issue #2 - Several minutes after turning off the car, if I receive an incoming call, but I have no audio on the phone. Checking the phone's audio source, it says its directed to the car, even though the car is shut off.
In both cases, I'm in close proximity to the car after shutting it off.
I'm suspecting that either turning the car off doesn't disconnect the bluetooth session, or doesn't do it properly (with the fault being on either the car or phone side, or both).
This would explain issue #2, as the phone thinks its still connected to the car's audio system.
And may also explain issue #1, as the phone still thinks its connected to the car, and the car cannot establish a new connection to the phone.
I'll try to remember to lock the car after I back it out of the garage to get some stuff (to shut down the electronics). And see if that eliminates the phone connection problem on restart.
P.S. I've purposefully not upgraded my iPhone's OS, due to issues I've seen raised in other threads about iOS 8, so its still sitting on iOS 7.1.2.

I would never connect my cell phone to my car. Driving and talking on the phone is a distraction and just not worth it. My phone goes into the glove box until I reach my destination. But that's just me.
I have occasional disconnects with my Galaxy 6S Edge. Just reconnect and every thing is fine. On my 12vert I had several Iphone 5s's each one of them would eventually get corrupted and not stay connected. Apple replaced all of them at no charge. When they replaced the last one they told me they would not do it again at no charge. As a result, when my contract ran out I replaced the Iphone with a Galaxy and have not looked back.
Interesting so we assume you don't use any of the features of the car like radio , nav , heat , AC , cup holders window , etc. as they all distract from driving. thanks.
My Samsung Galaxy J5 connects seamlessly and maintains connection which did rather surprise me as from several forum posts on the topic, I was anticipating some issues with android.
Not being a fanatical 'early adopter' on phones, I'd been using a Nokia 6310i in my last three Jaguars.

Have to admit, I have not made any outgoing calls while driving (my co-pilot makes some), and only answered incoming calls (from the steering wheel controls). And the radio, just never turn it on, enjoying the 'tune' from the rear of the car too much! (Not sure if or when I'll get around to getting the ACM activated!)
Jag - this is a well-known issue attributed to the older blue tooth module... also a reason why some chiming in with the 2010 or newer MY's aren't seeing the same problem. I swapped out my older module with a newer one a couple months ago now it pairs perfectly to my HTC One M8 also shows calls made/received and the signal strength . Got mine from eBay ran me @$140 and sold my old one for over $100 so worked out well. Labor took me about an hour
There's a few threads about which models to look for, if I can help you let me know

Yep you got it. Everything is set to 'auto'.
With the ACM I was thinking ahead to future road trips, where the wifey gets annoyed with my modus operandi of playing the same song repeatedly (which is now the exhaust tune in the XK, in my other car I'll lock it on a single song for a 2-3 hour drive
So the ACM (along with the Tune2Air, and/or a thumb drive) should allow her to listen to her stuff, as we motor on down the highway.
I have the Motorola G with Android lollipop. Vendor has yet to upgrade to marshmallow. Lollipop has known issues with Bluetooth as Jagtoes noted on previous Bluetooth posts. I've been patiently waiting for an 09 Bluetooth module to become available on eBay. There is only one out there currently and it's ridiculously priced. I'm wondering if the XF Bluetooth module will fit, but not enough buy one to experiment. They look similar physically but that doesn't imply compatibility.
Anyone have search ideas in eBay? My saved searches are Jaguar XK Phone module and Jaguar XK Bluetooth.
I see one out there for $629 from an 07. Yes I'm still laughing, but have been on the lookout for some time and starting to think there may be a better search term.
I've also searched

From what I've read, $150 would be a fair price.
