Just the OBD wireless connect.

After last battery disconnect/reconnect, everything works. Solution for now is a C-Tek MXS 5.0 This seems to be the replace for the 3300. I'll disconnect the battery when it's in the shed (no power) for more than a couple of days (the time it's taken to drain to 12.4). Do window reset, ECM for 2 mins. Will I lose the seat memory?

Doing connect/disconnect when my 06 XK8 is in storage. I was hesitant to do on a 1-2 week basis but no problems for the past 2 months. Reset is simple. AGM battery steady 12.8. After a year of drains, no longer charges to 13.1. May hook to C-tek and see if that helps. Car always starts.

Yep... unplug it, and then do a battery disconnect and reconnect again!

Thanks for the disconnect suggest. Improved to 13.1>12.5 over 5 days. Double click, info totally off, stereo off, headlights set to off. Full parasitic drain test next.

Drove the car 40 miles. Battery still 12.5. OBD charging shows 14.2-14.7. No warning messages. No codes. Checked voltage at terminals w/ car idling. It's 14.4 However, overnight charge w/ C-tek (4.3A max) and get 13.1. How can trickle charging work (12 hours) when driving 40 miles (1.5 hours) doesn't? Ac on, stereo on. Does it make sense to replace a 1 yr old high quality battery (done by PO) that trickle charges to full voltage?

Charging at 14.7 volts seems a bit high for a 'new and good' battery. I'd think there is a bad connection somewhere, either a ground point or maybe the battery cables on either end?

Default "CHARGING Cycle:

You may be right about short drives on a battery that is already poorly charged, but there is no such thing as the charging system not being engaged from the moment of start up. Cars don't have Amp Gauges today or it would be obvious..

This made sense to me. Storage shed for my car is 1/2 mile away. Wondered about drain so tested. Using a high end multimeter, same voltage at start and finish. Looks like the occasional start to move the car or drive very short distances is ok. The problem is driving repeatedly driving short distances. Far enough to drain the battery a little each time but not far enough to fully recharge.

Default battery isolator?

I am very concerned about the battery issues and it is severely damaging my confidence in the car. I have owned Jags, Lotus, Porsche and Triumphs and the battery issue on the 2010 XK is stunning failure for Jaguar and very irritating. My current lead acid battery is fairly new, is almost always on a trickle charger BUT God forgive you if you forget to hook it up to the charger and go the beach - 3 days later you ARE SCREWED.

My question is simple - is there a definitive solution to this problem??

If there is not a permanent fix what is the best course of action?

AGM Battery and solar trickle charger?

Any advice is greatly appreciated - I still have to reset my convertible roof after the last battery drain event.

Thanks for you help,

Assuming you will test the battery and ensure it is in top condition, and that when you park it the car you make sure everything is turned off (including lights and radio via buttons) . Consider a buying portable starter pack and keeping it in the car. As a last resort, consider installing a battery isolator switch. Yes, you will loose presets, but, you would get home.
