Default Yet another battery question

My car was in the garage for three days and when I went out to start it, the battery was dead. I recharged it but I'm wondering if that's normal? How long can you leave it parked before the battery wears down. My 07 XK never had this issue.

There are many variables that can cause a battery to weaken or go dead.

Highly recommend that you PURCHASE a CTEK 3300 Smart Battery charger and keep connected to the battery at all times. It is one of the best investments that a Jaguar owner can make for under $70.00.

Many Jag owners on this forum have purchased CTEK 3300 chargers and are extremely pleased knowing that when they want to drive their beautiful Jaguar, it will start.

There is a post here on Jaguar Forums on how to install the CTEK 3300 that I wrote, or any other smart type charger. It's a 10 minute installation, low cost for the unit, but most importantly, it provides peace of mind.

Check it out, you will be glad you did.

Hope this helps.

And make sure you lock it, even when you park it in a garage - it stays awake (and drains power) much longer if it's unlocked.

On a 2010 make sure this update was done on your car: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...at-battery-pdf

Also make sure you lock you car when you leave it.

I always lock it. So it might be the TSB WhiteXKR mentioned. I'll have Jag check it out. Thanks!

Before purchasing my car last November, I noticed this update was done on my car. Before purchasing the CTEK 3300, my car sat for weeks without any starting issues. I now have the CTEK and hook it up if I am not planning on going on any outings for at least a week. No issues to talk about, but I plan on keeping the CTEK active.

It might be the TSB. If it was already done, have them check the battery and tell them you would like it replaced. It is covered under the factory warranty for the first 4 years. Give it a shot. Regardless, go the CTEK route (as mentioned by Chazaroo) even if it's replaced as it will help extend the battery life as well as keep the car starting all the time. It's the best investment to date I've made with my new Jaguar.

Or, if you fancy one that says "Bentley" on it, you can pay over $300 for it.

Boca....Glad you took my advice on the CTEK.

For others:

Chazaroo and every Jag owner should own one of these CTEK 3300 chargers.

They are sold under the CTEK label for under $70.00 or you can buy one from Jaguar with their logo for about $130.00 or buy the CTEK with the Bentley logo for under $300.

Just spend the $70.00 and stop the frustration about battery issues.
This issue of weak or dead batteries has been beaten to death on these forums.

Get the resolve to this issue, the CTEK 3300. Installation is so simple.

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...lation-107738/

For me, I listened to an expert here on the forums from Victoria B.C. who has posted here numerous times and has owned over 25 Jaguars in his lifetime.

I am glad I listened, and bought the CTEK.

Now as many know, I have promoted this CTEK 3300 quite heavily here on the forums. As Boca stated, "It's the best investment to date I've made with my new Jaguar". I could not agree more.
