I am considering buying a car in Florida. I am located in Massachusetts. Is anyone available to look at a 2009 XK and tell me what they think of the two "slight dents" in the body? Any other observations would also be welcome.

If all that is holding the sale, ask the dealer to arrange Paintles Dent Removal service and if they can fix it; you'll buy it.

 

If those two dings are the only thing keeping you from buying that 2009 XK, reduce your offer by $300, which should be enough for you to have a paintless dent repair specialist fix both dings.

Only you can do your due diligence in buying a car. You can't rely on CarFax to buy a car because not everything gets reported to them. But you can rely on CarFax to not buy a car.

Where in Florida is that XK? Ask the seller if he or she will take it to the nearest Jaguar dealer for an inspection at your expense. If they say "No", find another car.

I recommend paying a Jaguar dealer do a Pre Purchase inspection to the Jaguar Certified Pre-Owned standards using their written questionnaire. That should include an estimate of the parts and labor costs to repair faults found during that PPI. You can use those results to negotiate a lower price from the seller.

Call someone in the preowned department at the Jaguar dealer in Ft. Lauderdale and offer them, say $50, to check out the car on your behalf for an appraisal.
