Check that the divider panel in the trunk is properly seated. If it got knocked out of position, the roof mechanism will not work. Make sure it is vertical and properly seated at the base of the divider.

Hi Forum,

I recently had problems with my convertible top. While investigating what was ultimately low hydraulic fluid in my pump, I stupidly pulled on the small pull cord near the pump and now I cannot get the top to operate. I get the message "Top Unlocked". Can anybody suggest a way to correct the situation?

Thanks

Patrick
That small pull cord releases the tonneau cover. Press around on the front and side edges of the cover, see if you can get it to re-latch.

Is that what this pull cord is for? When the problem started the top was raising with difficulty and I could hear the whining noise of the pump that didn't have enough oil to operate. But now nothing works at all. I get the "top unlatched" message in the dashboard information window but the pump does not engage. Nothing happens.

There’s a sticky at the top of this forum with the electrical guides. Select the one which includes your VIN.

Default Battery replaced now stopped3in up no nothing

Battery replaced went to put top down thing unlatched windows down and top started to move up from windshield 4 inches and stopped. Now nothing
tried to relieve pressure on pump. Still couldn't overpower the top.
While messing with pump i noticed the pump was really hot. Fluid level looks ok.

Front windows need to be reset after battery change for top to work properly. See owners manual or other threads on the subject.

I'm having a problem I haven't seen anyone else complain about. When I try to lower the top, it "tries", but it sounds like whatever latching system is in the top of the windshield frame will not let go of the ragtop. It goes click, click, click, click, like some gear is stripped out or something. Is there a way to get it to manually unlock from the windshield frame?

I suspect you do sort of the reverse of the manual reset procedure in the owners manual and use the allen key to release the overhead locks.

Hold the "top down" button for a 10 count and it will continue to lower.

Any suggestions??
Just to add, if anyone is experiencing this I also had it the exact same where I'd press the open button and it would unlatch go up a couple inches and everything stops and all I hear is the motor trying and I'd have to proceed to open the rear hood and move it all by hand to get the top down or up as well. Looks like my battery was the issue!! I connected a booster and it worked like new so I realized my battery is strong enough to start the motor but not enough to power the soft top 🤷🏾‍♂️ anyways test that out if anyone's experiencing these symptoms!

Being both pedantic and paranoid, I've never raised or lowered the roof without the engine running.

I operate my roof somewhat frequently, and remotely, using Steve's contraption. It's especially cool when I lower the roof while walking to my car and people are nearby wondering What the Heck.

I seemed to have the issue even with the engine running, and only when I added the noco booster did I notice normal operation of the softop.so I'm guessing I'll need a new battery, so once I get it I'll update everyone on how the softop operates!

I must admit I am tempted by the idea of one of these gadgets. Not so much for being able to to operate it from outside the car, more because of feeling like an idiot who's got his finger stuck in the headlining. Why it wasn't one-touch from the factory is a mystery to me.
