Default Puddle lights out

Do you have to go to the dealer to reset the puddle lights if they do not come on? Can they be reset some other way?

I believe the puddle lamps are separately controlled by the driver & passenger door modules. It would be odd (but not impossible) for both modules to have the same glitch. I'm not aware that the puddle lamps are an option that can be controlled using the diagnostic system (they're definitely not in the car's touchscreen options), but it could be worth phoning a dealer or independent specialist to ask.

There is a TSB for the earlier cars that mentions the puddle lights not working after a software update.

The cause was that the parameter in the car configuration file for the puddle warning lights was not required to be set on those.

The fix was to go in to IDS and update the CCF by selecting 'puddle lamps are fitted' so it sounds like there is a parameter in there that could affect both puddle lamps simultaneously.

Hi,
Please spell out "IDS" and "CCF", it would help a new owner trying to learn the "lingo".
Thanks....

You can read about IDS here:

And, if you didn't spot it, I spelt out CCF in my second sentence in case people didn't know what it was.
