Default A question for my American friends

I'm looking to buy and get imported to the UK a Ford F150 Raptor.
Whats the best place to look for used cars and trucks in the US?
I can see some on Ebay, but get nervous about Ebay!

Would suggest a reputable dealer along the Northeast Coast, as the end result will decease the cost of shipping to the UK, especially from the New York area.

You have a good amount of buying power with Pound vs US Dollar.

Now is a good time as dealers will want to start to close out of 2013 models, if you want new. Also best to time to buy is at the end of each month as dealers want sales for the month end.

I have a 2010 Ford F-150 SuperCrew and it has run flawlessly. You will not be sorry or disappointed with the high performance Raptor.

Consider contacting George Androulakis, who is a long time, trusted forum member and licensed used car dealer based in New Jersey.

Many thanks for the help.

Houston is a good port, I've shipped a few cars from there in the past. I've also found better cars there due to the climate, rather than East Coast where the salt and grime hits in the winter.

I've imported a few cars to Switzerland from US, but not to UK.

I would not be affraid of eBay, as long as the seller checks out. Good feedback and is reachable for questions. If you find one within a reasonable disstance, I would be happy to go check it out for you. (no charge of course) I have MANY cars and know what to look for.

How are you dealing with Homoligation, MOT and the like?

Best to look for 100% stock cars or if you want something really new, a car with an MSO (never been registered so it's techinically "new" even though it may have mileage).

I've imported quite a few cars in the past, mainly Corvettes. There's a huge friendly Corvette community over there so had plenty of hands to help me find cars. The Raptor doesn't have such a big community, so looking via usual channels.

MOT etc is fine, even on modified cars (that I've bought over in the past). I have a shop that makes them Euro spec and does necessary paperwork to register them in the UK.
I usually get the mods done in the US before I export the car, with the exchange rate, its cheaper + the parts are already there!
