Default Questions New Owner 2007 XK

First can anyone tell me what the plug in the center console is for? Has a symbol almost like a radio antenna.

Does anyone know if it is possible to play DVD's on the nav screen. I have a son that would love to be able to watch movies.

I have read on here that you can play MP3s off cds. Is there any certain format they need to burned with?

Thanks all I look forward to getting to know everyone

I'm not sure on an 07 what plug you're talking about. A pic perhaps?

You can not play DVDs on the NAV screen without significant aftermarket alterations. In all honesty, it's cheaper to buy a portable player or even a laptop.

My 10 can play MP3s off of CDs. The manual states that it can even read multi-session CDs that haven't been finalized.

The "plug" I think you are referring to is the traction control switch. Check the owners manual, page 166, to be sure.

You definitely can NOT play DVDs without an after market mod.

Yes you can play MP3s from a CD. You can use most burning software to do this. I created some with separate folders for each album, but you can organize in any way that works for you.

The plug you are referring to might be the one you stick your key into when it has a low battery and does not function properly. I have a 2008 XK Conv and this is covered on page 39 of my manual. This lets the key start your car until you replace the little battery inside the key. With regard to MP3's, I have no problem playing CD's I burned MP3"s onto years ago. Nothing special is required.

That is correct! I have picked up the car and now have the manual. It is for the key.
