Race day
While awaiting the delivery of my new F-type loaner frum Jaguar USA, this morning (they're a little late), we're getting ready to load the race trailer for our trip to Buttonwillow Raceway, this afternoon. Track days tomorrow and Sunday. I am going to drive the F-type up to the track, but since it's a convertible So Cal Audi Club doesn't allow it to compete on the track, but during the lunch session I'll try and get it out on the track for pictures. Report back on Sunday.

First session is tomorrow morning, and I'm sure there will be a professional photographer there as there has always been. I'll purchase the pictures of the XKR as I have done previously with my Pantera. Although So Cal Audi doesn't allow convertibles, so I can't take the borrowed F-type S convertible out during a session, I am going to try to see if I will be allowed out during the lunch hour and I will ask the photographer to take photos during my time out (if I'm allowed to do it).

Jim, the Jaguar Forum moderator, posted about 10 days ago, the opportunity for a signup that gave you the chance to go to the Jaguar USA preview showing on press day at the Los Angeles Auto Show. I happened to sign up first and was picked. When Jim informed those of us that had been chosen, he told us that the "good" news was that we had be chosen and the "FANTASTIC" news was that Jaguar would be sending the four of us a new F-type to use as we wished from Friday to Monday. On Friday morning, Jaguar USA delivered a beautiful Lunar Grey V-8S to my home, so I packed my XKR into my partner's and my race trailer, and I drove up the F-type, this morning.
So Cal Audi who sponsored the event does not allow convertibles on the track during sessions, so I drove my XKR for the first time on the track.
However, I appealed to the President of the club who let me take it around the track once during lunch so that the professional photographer could snap a few pictures. I will have those at the end of the day.
Stay tuned!
