Gem at the LA Car Show

Gem at the LA Car Show
At the Jaguar preview at the Los Angeles Car Show, yesterday, besides the exciting new F-type developments, the most impressive vehicle at the show was a Maserati prototype due in two years that is very much in the XK/XKR tradition. Wouldn't it be great to see something like this from Jaguar to replace the XK/XKR. Aston Martin should be afraid, very afraid!

Hey Ted,
Lucky you getting inside the LA show. I agree that it would be great to see Jaguar show off some new designs for the XK line.
I like the Maserati side view from front bumper to behind the doors but will take some time to get used to its rear. Perhaps it looks better in person?
Thanks for sharing the pictures, curious to read what others think of the design.

Hi Bob,
The rear end is very avant garde although it's a running, functioning prototype, my guess is the rear end will change a bit as a collision to the rear would be many, many thousands of dollars to repair. I also think the front hood needs some surface interest like the air vents on our cars as there is so much detail all around the car but not on the hood. Nevertheless, it's stunning, in person.
Looks like I'm going to be in San Jose on Monday for a short installation, if I feel like going further north I'll let you know.
I'm going to Buttonwillow tomorrow afternoon for racing on Saturday. Unfortunately, I can't stay for Sunday as I have my uncle's and aunt's 6oth wedding anniversary brunch in the morning.
I will put my XKR in the trailer and drive up the new F-type V-8 that Jaguar is giving me tomorrow through Monday. So, if I come up you may see me in the F-type.
I'll let you know my plans by tomorrow.

Just got back from a day at the track with my XKR (and will post pictures from the track photographer when I get them in a few days), but although So Cal Audi prevents convertibles from participating, I was allowed to take the F-type convertible that Jaguar USA gave me for the weekend on to the track for 1 lap so that I could have the track photographer shoot some pictures.
