Default Rear Quarter Windows Operate Independent of Convertible Top!

- I just did and here's what l learned...

I thought that the rear quarter windows on my convertible operated only when I put the top up or down. I've always wanted to be able to operate them independently of the top, and that's one reason I signed up for WhiteXKR's remote top kit. See: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-video-109235/

So you can imagine my surprise when I Read The F Manual (doesn't mean F-Type):
"Rear quarter window operation(Convertible only)

The rear quarter windows operate automatically in conjunction with convertible roof opening or closing.

The rear quarter windows may also be operated independently of the convertible roof when the convertible roof is closed, by means of the convertible roof switch on the overhead console, as follows:

To lower:
Press the rear of the switch for less than a second and the rear quarter windows will be driven down fully.

To raise:
Press the front of the switch and hold and the rear quarter windows will rise for as long as the switch is held.

Note: When the convertible roof is opened, the rear quarter windows are automatically lowered and cannot be operated until the roof is closed. When the roof is closed, the rear
quarter windows are automatically raised.

Note: The rear quarter windows operate together and cannot be operated individually."
Note that the OEM system allows the rear quarter windows to be operated manually using the convertible roof switch only when the top is closed.

WhiteXKR's remote top kit with the optional rear window control will let you operate the rear quarter windows with the top up or down, an improvement over the factory. It will be nice to be able to put all the windows up when the top is down while zipping along the interstate.

If this was helpful, please click the Thanks button, bottom right.

Interesting as when I took the test drive I was looking for the rear window switches to put them up with the top down. It was 50* when I took the drive and wanted the top down and all windows up . Now I know , I guess you learn something new every day.
