A lot of work to look less attractive than the original seat. We bought the GT specifically for using the seat as soft luggage storage. Works a treat and love people wondering how passengers fit at cat shows.

Me thinks this is a case of "Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder". At my "Cars 'N Coffee" cruises, I've removed that question. Now, they might wonder what the hell those two straps are used for. LOL!
Hey all,
The past couple days have been putting the finish touches on this "Rear seat Delete" project. Have only a couple **** type adjustments remaining. Overall, glad I did it and proud of the outcome.
May not be everyone's "cup 'o 'tea", but, as I stated in one earlier post, if I get tired of it, easily reversible.
this is insanely cool. I’m looking to do a delete to lower the weight but this might be the way to go
I'm not sure of the weight difference, as I traded the seat back and bottom for a simple aluminum frame (3/4 X 3/4 sq. tubing ) plus lightweight upholstering backer board(s). I feel adding the two storage compartments in place of the seat bottom is "priceless". It just makes better use of a useless seating arrangement. Plus, was able to do this conversion without drilling or changing any existing body attachments. The rear seat assembly can easily be re-installed.
Yeah, the stock 'seats' weigh combined maybe eight pounds for all six pieces. Also, to do a flat deck like that the entire area has to be raised over the center high spot, so you actually lose a good bit of space, although it does become a bit more usable.
Wow that’s actually very surprising, I guess weight wise it isn’t worth it. Still, I’m thinking I’d be more content with the delete I guess I could either go somewhat the way that was posted above or similar to how Porsche does its rear deletes except maybe add aftermarket audio. Either way tired of having the conversation of legless passengers.

Yes, raising the deck to clear the "hump" provides the deeper storage space in the two cavities. Also, one gains easier access to the fuse panel location. One side I use for a "cooler" bag for drinks, the other for ?. I used the same attachment points for the rear seat belts for our two Yorkie's harnesses. All of this is easily reversible.
