Can someone tell me what is going on here? The top half of the rear window has separated from the convertible top! Is this a simple fix that someone like me with limited tech skills can put right or do I need to see my indie mechanic?

I tried the DIY method in the previous post. It lasted a few months. I then found an upholstery shop that removed the top, reglued the window, and re-installed the top. $1300 all in. Very happy with the result.

 

Important note: Read that entire thread before doing anything. The 3M products were messy and didn't hold up. I used Rhino Glue and Suck and Clamps and they worked. ... until I decided to buy a new top.

 

Thank you all, I will not do this myself but would like to avoid replacing the top! Have found a local upholstery guy to come and estimate the window reseal. Will let you know….
