Removal of Passenger Door and Fender Nightmare
In 2017, my first '07 XKR coupe flooded during Hurricane Harvey. Fast forward to today, and I've finally found a totalled, but RUNNING 2008 Portfolio XKR that took a side swipe on the passenger's side. I'm removing the passenger front fender and door, and will cut out a rear section of my flooded XKR's rear passenger quarter to donate to the running Portfolio. Straight forward, right? WRONG! The removal of the front fender and door have been nightmarishly difficult. There are two bolts holding the lower front fender on that are inaccessible without destroying the rocker panel. The door has 4 bolts holding it, two of which can't be reached without...removing the front fender! I was also hoping for a quick connect of the door's wiring at or near the hinge, but no such luck. Looks like I'll be cutting and re-splicing the entire door wire bundle unless there's a quick disconnect behind...you guessed it... The front passenger fender. Any ideas on how to proceed?
