They come up on eBay for a good price now then. Probably more then than now since the car has been out of production for a bit.

before it was damaged by fire...damn MacDonalds!
In the UK I used a self adhesive plate on my X100, never had a problem with MOT as they were more in awe of the car

Am about to purchase a X150 and assume I can do the same thing?

Ok, Color me shocked! I just moved my 2001 XKR from a state that requires front plates to a state that does not. I was so happy to pull off the front plate only to find the bracket attached in a way I could not fathom. Thanks to this forum posting, I realized that they used rivets to attach the bracket! Actually, mine look like "pop rivets". So, if you put a punch on the center of that pin, and hit it, you drive the pin back (loosening the rivet) and have a nice hole to drill out the ring a the top of the rivet and release the black.

Pop rivets? Really? anyway, I'm going to drill them out tomorrow and then I'll decide about repairs to the remaining bumper parts. I'm leaning towards the bumper plugs, but we'll see.

Thanks again to the forum members for the valuable insight!

No. Just two, one on each side.

i drilled them, removed the outer ring of the rivet and the bracket is off. But, so far I’ve not been able to remove the rest of the rivet, so I’m left with two small holes with remnants of the rivet just inside. Not great.

Just drill it out to the size you need in order to put colored bumper plugs in.

I tried that. The pop rivets just spin in the hole.
