Default Remove rear windscreen

Hello, just bought 07 Xkr coupe and brought it to paint shop to have some minor corrosion issues sorted around rear windscreen on the boot/trunk. In order to fix the paint the glass has to come out but the fitter reckons that once removed the windscreen can not be refitted, a new one would be needed because the rubber seal is part of the window and will be damaged while removing. Anyone ever remove a back window.windscreen before?

Haven't removed it myself but in the XK 'how it's made' video (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U0-T7FBKOns) at 31:30 it's clearly shown how it is assembled. Not sure whether this helps.
