Thanks Peter. Have you ever had any issues with overcharging? The ctek probably shuts itself off when full battery charge is reached, and only starts charging again when the battery voltage dropped enough?

No, the Ctek is fully automatic. Just plug it in and it will maintain the battery!:-)

See my posts ##17, 19, and 21 in this thread for detailed instructions and photos of how to install a battery maintainer using the remote battery terminals in the trunk.

It would be a major hassle to connect/disconnect the battery whenever you take a drive due to the battery's location. The Ctek maintainers come with two sets of battery connectors, a typical set of clamps and another set with ring terminals. I just spiced in a pair of long wires and ran the connector to the edge of the trunk near the lid and connected the ring terminals to the battery. If I'm not going to use car for awhile, I just plug it in and forget about it.

If you connected the negative ring lug to the battery terminal you need to remove it and attach it to a chassis ground. This is for the MY 2010-2015 because of the battery control device on the negative battery cable. The CTEK neg. terminal must be down stream from this module or you may damage the charging system. This is for 5.0L cars only.
