what is the best recommendation for tire replacements on a 2014 XKR-S?
the car still has the original factory installed Pirelli tires.
i would like to "upgrade" if that's possible.

I'm not sure what you mean by upgrade, but if you seek higher performance then go read as many reviews as you can.

Performance from a tire is a little complicated to judge as it is a matter of feel, feedback and grip levels.

Often the tire that has the highest peak grip, is more difficult to hold at that edge, which makes it easier to under-perform.

Personally I enjoy a tire with a crisp cut off from peak grip, where asking too much really hurts you. It is very satisfying to walk the edge with a tire like this, but when things go wrong you'd probably wish you had some other tire.

 

Sticking with stock will keep you from having to replace all four at once.
