Default Sat Nav / Firmware updates

What are you guys doing to upgrade your MMM2’s please? Do the latest sat nav updates also do firmware or is this dealer only?

If it's legit, the one you posted would be the newest. £24.99 sounds like a fake price, however. They are usually up towards 80-100.
I'd think most people in this forum who use the latest possible use the 2017-17 Volvo disks.

If necessary for the NAV Unit, it may update. Probably not though. There isn't really anything TO update.

My guess is the price quoted is for one disc. And note the USA and/Canada are not included in the listing.

Yep I think Norri pointed to something similar a year or two back. The ones he pointed to were less expensive too. Norri, ring any bells?

I use a very similar aftermarket source:
https://www.satnavishop.co.uk/2019-2...disc-188-p.asp

SatNaviShop has been on the go for several years. NavigationUpdate must be new (no reviews yet - not even fake ones) as the products look the same but lower cost.

My mistake. Thought it was Norri but this is the one I recall seeing now. Thanks Graham.

I tried to follow that thread but it's mostly in American and Australian and, being an Englishman, it was difficult for me to understand.

Then I read the instructions in post #5

At that point realised I needed a SatNav just to get through the thread.

The conclusion appears to be that Volvo discs are compatible for the USA mapping although the narrator accent issue was unresolved. A passing reference was made to Europe mapping but I didn't see anything to conclude Volvo discs are/are not compatible for all World Regions .......?

The Volvo disc specified in that link has both Eastern and Western US maps and works in North American market X150 models. The OEM Jaguar maps for the USA are on two disks, one for Eastern and the other for Western US.

I don't know if Volvo disks with maps for the rest of the world will work in X150 models sold in other world markets.

As for the loss of the British bird's accent on the Volvo disk, I think it's because Volvo buyers expect to hear a Swedish accent. Jaguar used the British accent on the US disks for snob appeal. They know it works to sell luxury goods. Madison Avenue figured that out a long time ago.

I thought the original idea of using Volvo disks came from Cambo,in Australia.

The thread is getting further OFF TOPIC because the OP has not added Location details. Lee Michigan's IP Address is in the UK so the question was specific to UK map updates.

The OP's Personal Profile shows his location as GB, but without a current nav map he couldn't tell us exactly where.
