@jahummer

Tried to send you a PM.
Says your inbox is full.
I have a question for you directly.

How were you able to get the Sparco QRT seats installed and have no airbag warning. I have an 07 with 50k miles. I hate the seats, I am desperate to remove them permanently. I have been looking through the CF and SDD and think I found where to turn it off. I think....

Any advice?

Will

Hello Will, do a search on google and you'll find your answer. The SRS system can not be modified in SDD. Sparco have the correct mounting hardware for installation in the X150, thanks to a member here who worked with me and brought his car to them to template.

I did a search on google and got BS results.

Is your SRS light on all the time?
I did a search of your post but you have over 5000 posts.

Can you help a new XKR owner out?

The question WAS answered by jahummer........... Contact Sparco and tell them what you need.

Actually the question wasn't responded to completely and thanks for your insightful 2 cents 🙄 I simply wanted to know if the SRS or airbag light was on since he changed the seats. Pretty sure saparco isn't going to tell me how to turn off or disable SRS light. Again it's just a question and Im sorry to get you old veterans in a knot. I don't know why this form has such negative attitude towards new members. I mean how hard is it to just say yes the light is on or no I found a way to turn it off. Then it's the comment, go search Google blah blah blah. You don't think I have searched Google already.

Forget it.

???
I figured since your reply was below the info that you may have missed it. Easy to do, especially on a mobile device.
Evidently since Sparco has the correct interface for the X150, there are no warning lights. Nobody on the planet will disable any SRS warning, it would be a HUGE liability issue. Even the Jaguar Authorized software is unable to disable any SRS warnings.
Nobody got in a knot. As for me, I tried to lead you to the correct and only info that was pertinent. How more completely an answer than "Sparco has to and can do it" would you like?
I guess a piece of black tape stuck on the dash would work... but then that may kill you in a collision. That's no good.

Will, I reckon I could’ve provided a longer explanation, but CeeJay did mention the reason for not elaborating here, it would be illegal and a liability. I answered your question that SDD can’t modify the SRS system. If you’ve found a way to do it then, then fantastic.

I said search google because the answers you seek CAN be found there quite easily in seconds. I’m sorry I can’t elaborate any further.

Reading between the lines (few though they were) I think what jahummer was alluding to is Sparco are using the Jag airbag system from the XK seats into their modified seats - I maybe wrong here, but it seems logical that that would be the way to go,

Hmmm…. Think you’re reading too much into what was said. All he said was that Sparco seats can now be mounted in an X150, period. Never said they will work with the SRS system.
(If they did, I think he would have said so.)
Directions were given to search Google if you want to disable your SRS system. (And why would you want to do that if the Sparco seats worked with the SRS system?) He’s built a track car, not a daily driver, for his own use, may not be the end result the OP is looking for.

To the OP. I'm not trying to make this difficult and I've answered the questions, I think, well enough to find the answers sought. Here in the USA, SRS systems are DOT mandated, tampering, modification, etc isn't legal on a vehicle used on public roadways and may have impact on car insurance as well.

I would however HIGHLY recommend the Jaguar sport seats, as Steve's done with his. They're quite stunning, look the proper part AND meet Federal laws.

I didn't realise Jahummer was speaking of his track car - makes sense.

I be resistant to try this though.

Although Id love to know how the Technicians did it for the XKRS GT , something tells me this would have had specific software for only that model

The GT has full airbags. The track kit (seats & roll cage), which Jaguar advises ONLY for track use and NOT approved for public roadways, includes modules which plug into the seat harnesses, not just for SRS but for the seat modules as well.

That's exactly the one I am referring to ....I did not know that it wasn't allow on public roads .

As when I had the performance seats installed, I looked for the option of switching the weight sensor off the passenger seat , my mindset was if the gt has it switched off it should be somewhere in SDD but not the case , I ended up using the 4.2 weight sensor pad instead
