My M3 has been super reliable and is much cheaper to fix than the XKR but yea cooling systems are problematic nearing a 100k in BMWs.

If you look at my sig, what 110k mile vehicle is currently in my garage waiting for me to pull the intake to replace some brittle plastic coolant pipes.

Also Selling
Let me know how you do. I also have a 2008 XKR Convertible for sale. It is pretty much the same color configuration and has 68K miles. I'm looking to sell to purchase another convertible or will consider trades. I am from MA and have it up on car gurus. Will be at Barrett Jackson Northeast at end of next month also. Great cars, just want to drive and own as many as I can.

McLaren Boston has a nice DB11 for sale. If you want that "wicked" experience, go for an Evora. It's such an experience to drive and you really feel special in cockpit. If going DB9, would go for the Virage or newer.

Aston Martin Review <- The people who made it.
If you are considering a relatively modern Aston, BUY THAT BOOK. I paid $50 for a now older paper copy, but I have no idea why they list so much for a copy. Just buy the ebook if that is the case. Given the price gap, buy a kindle and the book lol. I will say that the paper copy is beautifully made, with nice quality paper, its full color and nicely glossy on every single page. I will be buying the Kindle version and hopefully they eventually print a new one too and I'll buy that.
There are also ways through the Aston 6speedonline forum to get copies of the factory service manual; which I found immensely helpful. I can and have looked at how to do different jobs; which on more exotic, low volume cars, can be obtuse but overall is NOT on the DB9s. I live in West Michigan, where as exotic as it gets is Maserati and its about 130 miles to the nearest Aston Martin dealer; so I will be DIYing when I buy one and knowing the difficulty of jobs, price and availability of new/used parts, etc, is critical.
Aston1936 also has good DIY articles and overall knowledge to learn up from. The guy is very pragmatic, even keel, and has easy to watch youtube videos. A lot of youtubers are annoying or overly forgiving to faults in design of their cars; it's nice to have a resource grounded in reality.

Fast, I will be at Barrett with my 2008 XKR Convertible, but it will not be in auction as I plan to sell on my own. Do you have any lot #'s or other I can identify your cars that are up for auction? I was told that in order to have a reserve you need $150K value, so you plan on your cars selling any that fall below that valuation? I would like to meet up with you, let me know of any way I can ID you. I'll be wearing my Jag Leaper shirt.
Moses, saw some Lotus' in person on trip to Monaco. Definately more of a racer vs the grand tourer (Jag XKR) I have now. Always liked the Esprit. My budget may be a little more limited than some of the examples you mention. What do you think would be a good trade for a 2008 XKR Convertible?
80's Rule, I have been to the Aston1936 site and will check the others. It is a great place as a prospective Aston owner. I visited this forum before my Jag purchase and it was extremely helpful by most of the members on this thread. I am not beyond mechanical work, and was pleasantly surprized with how reliable the Jag has been.

I have a copy of the Aston book, very worth while investment before going down the Aston path. There are a lot of DIY stuff on Aston online. Redpants.lol is a good site for parts and how to stuff.
