Default Side sill replacement

Thinking of changing my side sills to that of the X60 body kit, how do i remove the stock side sills

Plastic screws along the sill underneath, lift up the black treadplate surround, more screws. Remove seal that clips into the length of it. It's also clipped into the lower part of the rear quarter and it should then lift away.

Forgive my question but where is the the black treadplate surround, is that the door thread plate

Yes, large black plastic part with rubber edging that the tread plate fits into.
