Default Side Window Defroster Vent Grill/Cover

Have a 2009 XK Convertible and need a side window defroster vent grill/cover. Plastic part on top of dash board on passenger side. Looks like it snaps into top of dashboard. Dashboard is black. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Welcome to the forum! You are a little misplaced however, try the XK150 forum, which is the correct one for your model. I've let the mods know so they'll hopefully move your post across.

Welcome to the forum Michael?,

I've moved your question from XK8/XKR to XK/XKR forum. This is the place to post questions about your model.

There are several dismantlers of XKs. You can either Google Jaguar XK dismantlers or try Pacific Motors which out of the Detroit area. There are also a couple of them in California. Barring that you can try a dealer, which of course will be more expensive.

Possible solution for what its worth. It was impossible to find a replacement vent cover after months of trying. Was told my only alternative was to purchase a new dashboard, which was out of the question. I found a 3d printer guy who said he would make me one. I removed the right side vent cover, had it scanned and gave the file to the 3d printer guy who made me a duplicate. The duplicate looked ok but was not original jag part. The scanner reproduced the right side perfectly buy when I installed the vent cover it was upside down but fit perfectly. The "new" vent cover looks ok but now blows toward the inside of the cabin versus toward the window. Not really a problem and ascetically the 3d cover looks ok.

There must be software that could do a mirror image of the scan, before feeding it into the printer.

Had @TexasTraveler not come through, the best I could come up with was buying a complete dash for around $1000. Thanks again, sir.
