I’ve no personal experience with them but a read of various engineering papers as well as some YouTube video indicates the BEST performing plugs retain OEM design and anything else is marketing Mumbai jumbo and actually yield poorer performance.

Hundreds of millions of dollars have gone into the engineering of E3 spark plugs, while Jaguar engineers said to each other "What plug should we put in this thing?" while they were designing it. And, they probably selected the cheapest ones that would work to save on the production costs.

Funny, I did the same thing when replacing mine lol.

However, I would blame the finance department for that, not the engineers.

Yep, the age old car design battle - bean counters vs engineers.
The bean counters usually win.
