Default Speed Pack?

I see a local high end dealer has a 2007 Jaguar XKR for sale with the custom speed pack look with the front splitter, rear diffuser etc. I'm interested in doing that as well. Does anyone know where I could buy it from besides Jag? I see Mina Gallery sells the RS front splitter upgrade but it only says for 2010-2011 models. Why can't it fit an 07'?

Default RS Front Splitter

Unless you have a 2009 Euro Spec XKR-S or the previous owner installed a RS style front splitter this would not come standard on a US Spec 2007-2009 XKR. Look closely. The splitter is one piece and surrounds the entire lower edge of the bumper cover. The MY2010+ splitter is a 3 piece deal. If you want that you would need to get a MY2010+ bumper cover.

So where can I find/buy the front end bumper that's the same as the 2010 XKR model? I like that one better than the one I have now. I would add the LED strips to the lower end as well. Also, would the rear diffuser kit fit? Thanks for your input. Jaguar XKR XK8 Rear Diffuser Upgrade

Here's an 07' for sale. Same color as mine and it has everything I want with the front bumper, the spoiler and rear diffuser. http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...nal&listType=1

What's the real difference between that front end that you just posted and mine?

You don't have a front splitter on your car. You can get the RS type front splitter for 2007-2009 XKR from MG. Looks closely at the bottom edge of the front bumper cover on your car versus the photo of the RS. The part that sticks out is the splitter. You don't have that installed on your car.

Ahh, gotcha now. But I wanna still get the 2010 front end look/bumper. In essence getting rid of the fog lights etc and putting in the strip of LED lights in the front lower end air vents or whatever you wanna call them. Here's a pic of what I want my front end to look like.

You're wanting to replace your entire 2007 front end, with a 2010 front end.

This must be the car you're referring to in your original post.

Jaguar : XKR Jaguar : XKR | eBay

The listing says that the entire mod was done by a Jag dealer, with OEM parts. My guess is that's the only way you're going to be able to do it.

Yeah, that's the car I'm talking about. I guess it sold. But if getting it done by Jag is the only way then I'll probably won't do it as I'm sure the price will be crazy. I have other mods that I have on my list....LED tailights, powder coat the rims, the bigger rear spoiler, rear diffuser and front splitter. I just wish there were a spot where I can put the LED strip in the front as the fog lights don't do anything for me and I hardly use them.

I think the MY2010+ Front Bumper Cover is around $1500 and then you need to have it painted. IMHO a pricey upgrade for an insignificant cosmetic change.

I actually prefer the pre-2010 front bumpers. The lines are cleaner, simpler, and smoother.

I had a 07 XKR that I just traded for a XKR175. Two years ago, I planned the same MY2010/Speed Pack upgrade. Honestly, the "cheapest" way to do the upgrade is through a Jaguar dealer.

The rear diffuser and side skirts are VIN-controlled, so you need a dealer to be nice enough to use a proper car to order these parts for you. The 2010 bumper cover, front splitter (three pieces) and the rear spoiler can all be ordered as normal parts for any XKR. You'll also have to order the trim pieces for the bumper because these don't come with the cover.

Back when Dan was at Nalley, the discounted price for parts alone was somewhere around $6000 plus painting and installation. But these are OEM polyurethane parts that fit perfectly. Beware of fiberglass or FRP - no matter how high the quality is, fiberglass parts really need to be shaped and fit to the specific car once received. That's a lot of labor that you'll pay for that you won't have with Jaguar parts, the latter of which just snap on in literally one hour once painted.

Most importantly, that eBay car will get some value out of the Jaguar parts and upgraded bumper. A car with aftermarket parts, even those as good as Mina Gallery, probably won't achieve any significant residual value (and could have a negative effect on value). And you'll have paid for all that labor to fit fiberglass parts that might be hard to sell later on. If you save your old OEM parts, you can at least put the original parts back on your car and sell the 2010 bumper, Speed Pack skirts, etc on eBay.

If you go the aftermarket fiberglass route, though, then don't even bother with any company other than Mina. They took time to measure and study the XKs for these parts.

My advice: Go with OEM or trade up to a 2010 when the prices are within your comfort zone. But, in the end, I'm not sure I even like the 2010+ front bumper all that much. The 2007 XKR front bumper was sweet. IMO the 2008 Euro-only RS is the best-executed XK.

Good luck
