Default Star Light Headliner

Hey everyone, so i've been seeing a lot of the Star Light Headliners recently. The Rolls Royce style headliner where there are a bunch of fiber optic lights. (Amazon search for star light headliner)

I've been seriously considering this for my 2011 XK 5.0 Convertible, I think it would look amazing. I've seen a youtube video where someone has done their XF and it came out pretty good.

My question is has anyone ever done this project? What type of power requirements or hookup do you guys think? Should I put in a switch to prevent power drain?

Before I go ahead and start another project that I end up ruining, I'd like to see what you guys think or how you would approach it. I know there are different kits with different power supply, I think someonwhere between 16W -20W. I've never been good at electrical stuff so I don't even know how to approach it.

Lets hear your thoughts on the project itself, and how you guys would approach it.

No thanks, not for me. All that flickering would be distracting and drive me !

The problem with a convertible is the bending of the headliner when retracted. If you have ever worked with fiber optics.....they dont like to be bent or folded. Plus, they would likely pull from the mounting points on the headliner the second you retracted the top. I saw a video on a SL55 with a rigid foldable top. He said 6 months later its still working but thats on a rigid top with one folding point.

But hey if its something you want to mess with, go for it. Just be mindful of the limitations of the fiber strands with respect to bending/pinching etc.
