Guys

I have this latch problem on my 2007 XK. Any detailed remedy will be appreciated.

You COULD have copied that text instead of posting a link. That made it the most troublesome way to see words.
Anyway, try leaving the cover over the cupholders, pull up on the latch a bit more, but pull rearwards a bit also. Then give the whole thing a firm tug up while slightly pushing the cover forward.

 

The mechanism for the latches seems broken, small cables have broken away.

I need an alternate procedure
