That looks like a non-standard / aftermarket pulley to me.
Possibly a smaller diameter pulley.
Coz to the best of my knowledge all factory pulleys on the AJ133SC have/had black ribs, not orange like that one.
So I'm going with "shitty install job" - the pulley wobbles enough to throw the belt.

Yes I should have mentioned this is an aftermarket smaller pulley don't think it wobbles but not on far enough

Another one of rhe dangers those in the pursuit of more power face as there seem to be more cowboys out there than those that know what they're doing

Was it rhe current or previous owner that had this shameful work done?

Judging by your video you are right. It looks out of alignment with the other pulleys but that may just be the perspective.

Is there anything else that could cause the belt to come off? If not, it's the pulley itself or the alignment.

agreed. Looks out of alignment to me as well. Oddly too Alex, and this might just be the camera perspective, but to me the grooves on the orange pulley look larger than the idler pulley.

Good luck getting that 'old' pulley off without destroying anything. Course, go ahead and destroy the abomination, just not the SC snout.

Did it fall off or break off?

If you have an old belt, cut it and try to line the grooves up to the SC pulley and the tensioner pulley.

Could be the wrong belt is being used.

You know I just checked the photo that I took and it does look like the pulley groves at the end look more square or maybe it's my eyes. So it's possible that pulley is not the correct one ?
I told the customer to take it back to the Jaguar shop that did the work as it's not something that I want to tackle , especially with the pulley in such banged up condition. The shop could also have damaged the thread on the snout end which would make pulley install with the press impossible.
As to out of alignment perspective, The camera does play tricks a little bit cuz I don't think it appears that much out of alignment in real life. To my eyes it just looked a little bit off and not on all the way, when the belt was installed it was not that noticeable. I know at least on the 4.2 cars , when after market pulley is on properly the end of the pulley meets the snout rod which wasnt the case here

Where did he get the pulley? There aren’t that many manufacturers out there.

The the shop that did the install is really shady and will not give out that information.
