Default Supercharger Problem

I have been driving my 2007 XKR Convertible for 3 years and done 70,000klms. I made two mods before delivery: 1. remap the computer to give an additional 40bhp and changed the supercharger pulley for an additional 30bhp. The work was carried out by renowned Paramount Performance in the UK before it was shipped to New Zealand.

The car is awesome. However I am now told that I have excess wear in the Supercharger shaft. Has anyone experienced problems with their supercharger?

Kevin

makes sense.... the eaton supercharger is almost at its max from the Jag factory in terms of performance. That pulley is most likely pushing its limits both in terms of power and wear.

Try rebuilding and porting the supercharger. Costs about 8-900 USD.

update: Just spoke to PSE and their porting raises 27hp, and with the 2.5lb pulley, you gain an extra 30-35hp. For $1500, you get a rebuilt, ported and upgraded pulley with nearly 60 hp extra. I am going to do it myself.

Thanks for your reply. What is involved in "porting" and what are the benefits of this work?

Porting will have higher airflow rates, higher efficiency, cooler also. You can also put on a lighter pulley and gain 45-60 hp.

Eurotoys has a deal with PSE for the 4.2 and 4.0 Jaguar SC engines.

Well all fixed... Not a supercharger problem at all! The catalytic Converters failed and the computer was over fueling this was causing all sorts of weird noises and rattles under the hood. It was these noises that had me believing that I had SC problems.

Anyway new cats and an education on o2 simulators later I am back up and running.

Does anyone know how these mods effect the factory warranty? I assume it nulls the supercharger - but it is the whole drive train as well?

.
the supercharger is nowhere near it's limit ,how can you say it's near it max from the factory when people have tuned this engine to 550 bhp without swapping the charger
