Is you car S/C or N/A? I'm guessing 5 litre N/A? Looking on ebay uk, there are 2 brand new clusters. I agree, go with the same part number- they are usually not interchangeable between different engine sizes and corresponding electronics.

I also saw one a week or so ago on a specialist jaguar parts supplier site- I'll try and find it

Sorry I think it must have sold- but the ones on ebay are good value and new- an instrument cluster is typically £800-1200 on a modern jaguar.

Hi mate, That's really nice of you to help like that. The part I'm after is C2P19923. I've had no luck myself as my car is N\A and only the 4.2 litre motor.

Pity it's not a 5.0 N/A, I just found a new one for £229!

Oh wow! That's just my luck. Lol. I was quoted $4000 (2000 pounds) by Jaguar NZ plus fitting...

Mileage corrections are easy for the companies with the equipment, not sure if its legal in NZ like it is in the UK

Hi again, You seem to be very on to it. I didn't see that listing. I have asked the question regarding part # so just waiting for a reply. I just need to remove the voltage regulator from a donor to repair mine so a cheap second hand cluster that matches is the best solution. Failing that it would be a brand new one from Jaguar. Thank you so much for helping. It means a lot.

Yes swapping the bits over is a good idea regarding mileage etc- however I would start with swapping the whole pack and check it cures the fault- before taking anything apart.
I had an instrument pack fail (well actually it was blown up by an instrument pack specialist) on my x100 xkr so am sadly rather familiar with them.

Have you tried Rodney Jaguar Rover? I took my yacht trailer to get a WOF today with the guy who services my XKR so asked about your instrument pack and he said that they have broken a few XK's so may have one:

Hi there mate, Just thought I'd let you know that your original idea of getting the car hooked up to a CTEC has done the trick! It took a couple of weeks but over that period the vibrations slowly became less and less and tonight out driving there was only the slightest tremble that most folk would not notice. A big thank you for all the time you spent posting your ideas. I really appreciate it. All the best!

No problem- delighted you got it sorted. If the problems return quickly I would consider a replacement battery. I would go for something above the jaguar standard rated battery. Will be cheaper from other sources, and better performing.

This theme and others have me reminiscing about the very dependable mechanical solutions as opposed to these electronic solutions:
Good old fashioned temperature gauge.
Good old fashioned tach,
Good old fashioned oil dip stick,
... Guess what, these solutions always work. Even the owners manual to the Riley describes how to rewind the electric motor for the windshield wiper, lol.

Yes, I wear mechanical watches too.

Yes, you're not wrong there. There have been a few other inovations that seem a step back including run flat tyres. I haven't had a puncture on the standard set up in over 100k kms and i dare say that's not uncommon these days.

Hi Brian
Just to let you know I fitted a new battery in the end as mine wasn't holding charge for more than 3 days- the vibration was cured permanently by the new battery (which was higher than jaguar's spec).
cheers
Andy
