Default Vibration at idle

Hi, folks in Jagland. Since I bought my 2005 4.2 I have always noticed a slight vibration when sitting at idle in drive. If I put the car in neutral the vibration goes away. If I put it back in drive the vibration comes back but goes away as soon as the revs go over about 1k. Anybody got any ideas?
Thanks in advance, 1/2er

Hi there, thanks for the reply. I have no idea on the fuel trims are, to be honest I can't see why they could create a problem like this. It's not a misfire or lumpiness, it's a fairly high frequency vibration that feels more like a fast rotating part being out of balance. Fuel economy is about right, power delivery is perfect, the engine is smooth at most times, it is not overheating. I think it may be something to do with the torque converter but as I have hardly any experience with autos I'm just not sure where to look.

Check your motor mounts.

Had a look at the motor mounts, could not see any leakage around them or obvious deformation. Having read up about hydraulic mounts it does seem like the most likely explanation. Looks like a nightmare too change them though so I may just have to put up with it.
