Default Is there a way to turn the cigarette lighter port off when car is off?

I use that for a phone charger and for the thing that sends the Bluetooth from my phone to the FM of the radio. But when I turn the car off, the power stays on in that. Is there any way to make it so that when the car goes off there is no power going to that port?

It goes out by itself after something like 20 minutes. It's a 'convenience' thing. It goes out quicker (maybe) if the car is locked.

So it's something that I shouldn't really worry about draining my battery?

I wouldn't, unless you have a flux capacitor plugged into it.

How do you do that to your capacitor?

Seriously, the cigarette lighter circuit is switched. That means that it's off when the ignition switch is off. But it doesn't shut off immediately after you push the STOP button. That circuit remains "live" in Convenience Mode for several minutes after you lock the doors. Thereafter, when the computer shuts off Convenience Mode that circuit is off.

That's why you can't attached a battery charger to your cigarette lighter receptacle. It simply won't work. When that receptacle is off the current from your charger can't flow to the battery because it's an open circuit. That circuit is a two-way street; when it's open (off) any device plugged into that receptacle is off, too, because current from the battery is interrupted and can't reach that device.
