Default Thinking of replacing 2007 XKR with a 2012...

Hey guys.

I'm thinking of swapping in my 2007 XKR for a newer model. I know about the exterior facelift, gearbox, trim and engine improvements.

But can someone tell me if there's any significant changes over the multimedia technology? I.e. has the audio/bluetooth/sat nav had any sort of refresh?

For example, the bluetooth in my 2007 XKR doesn't appear to work with the latest Android OS, which I gather is a common problem. The Sat Nav is a little slow to respond. And the iPod Audio Connectivity Module has extremely limited user interfacing features. E.g. I can change track from the wheel, but no audio information is presented on the display.

I'd like to know if these things have improved!

Thanks.

Bluetooth in mine 2008 XKR works fine with mine Xperia Z2/Android 5. No issues at all.
Multimedia in a 2012 XKR may be all the same as in a 2007, it depends of a build date. The multimedia was upgraded in a 2013MY IIRC. Anyway, it's still possible to retrofit a multimedia from a current XF

Ah, so you can drop in the XF technology? That's interesting!

It's possible, but it will require a replacement of the IAM module and touchscreen. Also it will require some works with wiring and MOST and some reprogramming. But it can be done.
