55% sounds great. Didn't really think there was much lighter than 35% because I didn't go have mine installed. If I have my choice I'd have a just a bit lighter.

The previous owner of my XK had it tinted, very dark. It looks good on black but if the car was any other color, I'd go lighter. I also added a folding Covercraft Sunshade for the windshield. What a difference that makes! The interior doesn't get nearly as hot.

When it comes to cleaning the inside (or outside), the solution Oasis recommended works quite well:
1. Buy a small bottle spray mister (a couple of bucks at Target in the shampoo/travel sized area)
2. Mix a solution of water (distilled, if you have high mineral content water), 2 tablespoons of Isopropyl alcohol, and 2 drops of dish soap
3. Spray onto Bounty paper towel to clean the window - don't spray directly on the window (I think overspray onto the interior is the issue)
4. Use a separate Bounty paper towel to dry.

It works very well as the iso alcohol eliminates streaks; good for LCD screens and outer glass as well.

BTW, to clarify my preference further (and again, tint is all about preference) while I like a lighter tint on most cars, I think black and white cars look best with a dark tint.

Thumbs up

I just tinted my silver xkr. It looks great but more importantly, it takes much less time to cool it off when I get in and the black interior doesn't seem to get as hot now. Looks cool/ serves a genuine purpose

So I never noticed any radio signal disruption. However, we just moved back to Dallas and some stations don't seem to come in very well. Wondering if it could be my tint. Wondering if I should remove...
