Default Too Good To Be True?

Cars for Sale: 2007 Jaguar XK Coupe in Manassas Park, VA 20111: Coupe Details - 332477352 - AutoTrader.com

I saw this ad for a 2007 XK coupe for $23K. It has 60K miles but still, it seems to be priced way low, so I suspect it's been hit or has another underlying issue. I am tempted just to go take a look at it though.

I strongly suggest you get the CarFax report for this car.
Any accident history means a poor resale value.
This price is quite low for a clean CarFax vehicle in NoVA.
Good luck.

Assuming the cosmetics and mechanics check out it's a bargan. Get an Xk owner to go with you for the check ride and inspection. The details can be expensive to correct. For instance, a blown shock is upwards of $1200 to fix. An ashtray that won't latch open is a $600 fix.

So far, at least, these 07 and up XKs are noted for their reliability. This car looks good in silver/gray and the 20" wheels are an extra cost option.

If you keep a car indefinitely, go for it. If you usually keep a car 2 years or less, keep in mind that 100K miles plus Jags are hard to sell.

I just ran an AutoCheck on it and it has 3 accidents on the report (2 with another vehicle and 1 with a tree). I'm guessing it was driven by an absolutely incompetent driver.

If it's too good to be true, it usually is!

I thought it got rear-ended because there was a noticeable gap between the rear bumper covering and the fender. However, with three accidents, there probably isn't an original piece of sheet metal left. I suspect the maintenance was equally shoddy.
