Default Transmission Oil Change

I know this has been addressed before but I can't find the threads. Also, can't find anything in the OM. Am approaching 75K...what's the consensus on getting this done?

Thanks.

Get it done. You have to change the transmission pan and filter. You can buy it as a kit and ends up costing around $500 to have done (parts & labor).

I contacted them directly sometime last year about getting fluids changed...here is what ZF said:

Hello,

This is in regards to the technical ticket you submitted. Here at ZF we recommend you do a fluid drain and refill every 60k miles. If you have a spirited driving style or drive in extreme conditions such as city, mountainous or temperature you should consider replacing the fluid at 50k miles. We have a fluid change instruction on our website. Here is the link…

We do not perform the fluid changes here at ZF. If you have a Bosch Auto Care Center in your area they can perform the change for you. Most Jaguar dealers probably won’t want to service the transmission. If you have a local shop you trust you can have them do it but make sure they use the ZF Lifeguard6 Fluid. Any other fluid may cause issues with your shift points and can cause permanent damage to your internal clutches and torque converter. If you are mechanically inclined you can perform this procedure by yourself. It is not very difficult.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Kind regards,

As the mileage adds up, the fluid can no longer perform as it did when new.
The dirty filter is a restrictive to oil pickup.

The procedure and fluid type is special, but this transmission is NOT SPECIAL.

This transmission does not have any high performance clutches,or heavy duty anything in it.Manufacturers are getting sued over sealed for life.Everyone drives different.Grandma's tranny fluid will not look like grandson's tranny fluid.
