Trunk key doesn't unlock truck
I recently had to have some rear-end body work done on my 2014 XKR thanks to a careless driver. Fast forward a couple months. I disconnected the battery, closed the trunk, and went to work on a cooling system overhaul including the rear heater manifold, water pump, y pipe, supercharger snout/isolation coupler, and SC oil change while I was in there. It took a while, but I was ready to reconnect the battery, vacuum fill the coolant system, and start the engine.
I put the key into the hole in the trunk. It turned about 75 degrees.... And nothing. I ended up going my wife's car battery up to the jump terminal and the frame long enough to get the electronics to come to life and let me unlock the trunk.
Is this likely an easy fix for me to DIY, or is this likely to be a pain in the neck, and I should take it back to the certified Jaguar repair place to get the trunk unlocking mechanism fixed? I looked online, but didn't find anything of value.

I had the same problem, and found that the key lock linkage had never been connected to the latch. It can never have worked. And others have reported this problem too. I suspect someone lazy on the original assembly line! It was a fiddle to do, but I managed to connect lock to latch and it all works now.
When it happened to me the car was tight against the wall of a too-small garage. I fed 12V from a jump charger battery into the engine cooling fan fuse under the bonnet and this supplied enough current to power the electric lock.
