When I use the remote to pop the trunk, it does that but the trunk does not open. Not sure if this normal or my trunk shocks are weak. Is functioning normal?
Dimopoulos4, I am a fellow 2009 XKR Portfolio owner a little north of you in Tyler. I mounted a CTEK battery maintainer in my trunk using the same jump-start leads as your device (+ to the jump start post inside the back left side of the trunk and - to the stud left of the spare tire). If yours is a charger and not a maintainer, I'd switch it out for a maintainer so you can leave it plugged in without worry.
If you expect the lift gate to stay up after you raise it manually, it should do that. If you raise it manually and it lowers by itself, your lift struts are weak.

That's normal. There is no power lift or close mechanism. You have to manually lift and shut the trunk lid after it is unlocked. It can be unlocked with the Smartkey, by pressing the button on the dash, or the button on the trunk.
