Does anyone have this tweeter housing with the black matt surround ring instead of the chrome ring? Long story short, after numerous visits to the dealer to get a short in the driver door speakers fixed, the problem was finally traced to a loose connection in the door which necessitated removing the door panel. In the process, the tweeter housing was damaged and did not fit tightly on the door and rattled. After a frustrating wait I picked up my car with the repaired tweeter housing and found this one installed with the black matt ring. It does not match the other one in my car which has a chrome ring. I am waiting for yet another part to arrive and yet another visit to the dealer to reinstall the new housing part. I have tried to find a picture of an XK with the matt ring and have come up empty handed. Just curious as to which models these were fitted to.

As a side note, I have gotten two requests now from the dealer to fill out a customer satisfaction survey. Do they really want me to do that?

Ah, that explains it. I was looking at later models and should have been looking at earlier models. Looks like maybe the change from matt to chrome happened in model year 09. I should have remembered that from my '07 XKR, but I'm getting old...

 

Wait to you get to 80 then it gets worse, I think!
