Default Unusual, modest vibration...would love your feedback please

My 2012 XK, 5 litre NA Jag has this weird, slight vibration that I have not figured out yet. Some things I noticed
;
Vibrates while in gear at idle (can't tell under load and driving)
Does NOT vibrate when taken out of gear
Engine doesn't appear to move when put into and out from gear
Exhaust feels snug as a bug encased in chocolate (kidding) - really, nothing appears loose
No extra metal parts flapping around underneath

Am wondering if it is a header hitting the body/frame and it is a failing engine mount.

Any ideas from this group?

Really deserves a look. Mounts? Linkage? Would hate to think its transmission internals.

I have this too, probably motor mounts,

does it get worse when the AC is on?

Transmission mount? Motor mounts are easy to diagnose. With bonnet open, foot on brake and in drive, press the accelerator with the other foot. If the engine moves, it’s the motor mounts.

I agree a mount is the likely culprit but your investigations suggest transmission is more likely than engine. JEPC shows this metalastik has been superseded a number of times before the current P/N C2D38505:

I was bemused to see a specific option listed for Singapore (boxed in RED) but noticed it has the identical C2D38505 part number. Unless there's typo, someone in JLR familiar with the Singapore Sling has a sense of humour and got away with it.

Thank you Graham, super helpful - and funny. So, a Singapore "Sling" in the parts catalog. Funny.

I will get under the car this weekend and poke around.

Yes, that is right. A Singapore Sling was a pretty popular cocktail in the 1970s as I recall. Putting that name in a parts catalog just strikes me funny.

Indeed. The drink was popular before prohibition and came back in a big way in the 70's. I tended bar during college and it was referred to as a ladies cocktail. But I digress. Looking forward to solving the vibration issue. @Speedmaster , let us know what you find.
