Default Upgrading 2007 steering wheel to 2012 - anyone done it?

There are a few brand new XKR steering wheels on ebay UK at the moment and I am tempted to change my 2007 steering wheel for a newer style one. The buttons are all the same but the leather is the more soft type and the switch gear is of a much better quality. Has anyone done this?

Wondered how easy it would be to do? Hope no programming is required!?

Thanks

Porsche people always do stuff like that(I have two) I looked onebay for the 2012 wheel. How is it different ,better? Can you keep the heated feature?

My car does not have a heated wheel. The new wheel feels much better to hold than the older one. If you dont believe me go test drive a 2012 car.

Hmmm...I don't seem to remember a great deal of difference between the feel of the steering wheel on my 2010 from the 07 I had. My 07 did not have a heated wheel and the 2010 does.

Other than that and some minor cosmetic differences...my 2010 wheel does have supple leather covering it, but as I recall my 07 had that too. Both wheels are magnificent to hold.

Perhaps there is a difference between the 2010 and the 2012?

Mine's an early 07 and the leather on the wheel is hard whereas on the 2012 its very soft and feels lovely to hold.
