My 2011 xk vert had an issue where it would go down ok but when I tried to close the hood it would not go all the way had to press the button several times before it closed completely. Then had to use the window buttons to close the front windows. Took it to the dealer and they said switch bad and Jaguar has a replacement. It is a different style switch and they replaced the whole thing. Works great now just different to use instead of just pushing up to open or close, you push up to open and pull down to close. Just a post if anyone is having that issue.

 

Just wondering if it works, what's the issue? I'm thinking it may be a safety redesign. Just a guess.

 

There was a recall sometime ago to replace the top switch due to federal regulators. My switch was replaced at no cost due to the recall. a better idea, maybe, now that you have a new switch that works well. What about White XK's remote top control? If you intend keep your xk for a while I highly recommend the remote top control.

It will do the following things for you. Open and close the top from about 25-30 ft. from your car. When in the car you will no longer have to hold on to the button for the time it takes to raise or lower the top. And, if you get the rear window control module you can put them up or down whenever you like. The cost is very reasonable, the product is superb and it should take no more than 2-3 hours to install the control system.
