Warning Light Issues
I have now had the same issue(s) twice since May14th. Start the 12 xk vert and all of the warning lights begin to blink and flash, steering feels and functions very stiffly, difficulty shifting with the knob, speedometer operates intermittently, infotainment system functions as does the a/c system and the windows. The car is currently at the dealers while they investigate again.
In the first instance they blamed the installation of my K40 calibre radar/laser detection systems advising that the wiring of the system should have been made through the fuse box. They cleared all the warnings and I had the K40 re-wired through the fuse box; no further issues until this morning.
Started the car up this morning and the Christmas tree was lit again. Steering stiff again, etc. This time I went to the K40 deler/installer first and had the K40 taken off the power grid. Then went to the dealer where the car now sits.
When I got home I called K40 and found that K40 has experienced these kinds of reports from dealers multiple times over the years. They advised that the dealer did the correct thing by taking the K40 out of the loop and that they don't recall any K40 installation ever having been responsible for the kinds of issues my car is experiencing. They suggested that after the warnings have been d-activated that I do not have the K40 reconnected for several weeks to see what happens next. That is what I plan to do.
By the way, I keep my car hooked up to my C-Teck battery tender when the car is parked for more than a few hours in my garage. The ammeter on my Android phone was reading 13.7 volts yesterday; so it is highly unlikely that the battery is an issue.
Ok guys any suggestions or hints? If so, I'm all "ears". All suggestions and/or hints are welcome. Thank you in advance.

Well, the dealer got done with car yesterday. findings: K40 ground wire connected to spot within the wiring system. They disconnected the ground wire and all the fault light disappeared, then they went in and clear all of the fault messages and drove the car 10-15 miles to see if there was a recurrence; there was none.
I have now disconnected the K40 and will drive unprotected for a month or so to see if I get a new "Christmas Tree". If nothing happens then will follow dealer's instructions for reattaching the K40. Hope that is the end of the story.

Sorry can't help you Ralph. My cat is purring like a baby. Sounds like a K40 induced problem. Also, your stock non-AGM battery is getting old. However, it sounds like you're following the proper process to find the problem. Good luck.
Currently I think the problem was due to the installation of the K40. Specifically the dealer shop foreman said that the ground was installed incorrectly, into one of the active wiring looms; he stated that the ground wire should have been attached to one of the inner body panels and then sealed with epoxy in order to not have the two metals work on each other.
I had the dealer disconnect the ground and tape it off. I am going to drive the car with no radar or laser protection for several weeks and see if the issue reoccurs. If it does not then it is a K40 installation issue. If it does happen again then it is a Jaguar XK issue. Time will tell. If it turns out to be the installation issue then I plan to have the system upgraded and re-insatlled by a different K40 dealer.
