Default Well, put in an offer today...

Doubt it will be accepted, but it was what I could reasonably afford.

Please say a prayer for me!

Have some of your friends put in lower offers. That would make yours the highest. If no other offers from people you DON'T know, You Win!

Well, that didn't last long. Got an email today from the dealer saying it sold yesterday. From the price he said it sold for, I imagine they wouldn't have come down to what I could have afforded anyway. A little disappointing, but if disappointment saves me $30,000, I guess I can't feel too bad about it.

The X150 seems to be selling quicker than in the past and the value is holding well this past year. I haven't seen any bargains and the demand seems to be with "exotic" cars in general since the start of the pandemic. I would expect any low ball offers to be rejected quickly. The cars listed for a long time are usually in need a work. My two cents. Another one will come along I'm sure.

Thanks. I was actually more down in the dumps about it than I thought I would be. I don't have a family, so something like this would have been something really nice to enjoy to fill free time when not working. When it came down to it, I made a top of my limit offer of 27,500, but it sold for 32,000, so it really wasn't realistic to begin with.

Perhaps I should change it to "Not-So Splendid Cat"?

I notice you're in the UK. I lived there for two years while on military orders. It will probably go down as the most memorable and interesting two years of my life. Loved it over there. Cheers from the USA.

Yep most American's that have spent any length of time in the UK I've spoken to were in the military.

45% of Americans hold a passport, where 80% of Brits do....as ours has pretty miserable weather...so we can't wait to leave for a few weeks

Best of luck to you too.

$1k will bring one across country right now... What are you looking for because $32k is low end F-type money around DC. This little bundle of joy keeps popping up on the marketplace...

Arlington and Albany seem to be the hot spots for that particular vehicle.

There's a reason it hasn't sold ... again. The CarFax shows 5 previous owners and a right front accident. With almost 100,000 miles and no mention of the rear brakes or water pump ever being replaced, how accurate is that CarFax? I'd be concerned that this "little bundle of joy" is really the opposite!

I doubt Carfax gets all the info and I'm not afraid of anything mechanical... Funny that you can get a 5.0 XF for under $10k but XK's are double that. Just some random thoughts but what's the life expectancy on a 5.0 that's kept oiled? I know that the rear's tend to eat themselves but what about the rest? I always figured that the electronics are the time bombs on these critters.

Marty,
It may sound strange, but I actually loved the weather there. I was in Cambridgeshire near Peterborough. Even when it was foggy and rainy, it made the countryside beautiful and it just fit so well against all the beautiful historic churches and buildings. And then when spring and summer arrived, the weather was so beautiful and all that rain and moisture made the ground so lush with the "greenest greens" I've ever seen. My complaints about the UK were limited to the store hours, lack of parking and uninspiring food (except for breakfast). Having to pay to use a shopping cart used to pI$$ me off to no end too when I'd forget to bring change (shrapnel)!

That's because you're a tiny little hole in the wall (no offense, talking geographically) and everything is at least a country away. I can go 2200 miles and still be in the US. My sister-in-law can drive to Maine and take four days and 3,200 (6,000 with scenic detours) and see nearly every type of climate you would care to see.
Passports? We don't need no stinkin' passports. (Apologies to Mel Brooks)
