I was inspired by the later model Face lifted xkr they have the black fascia / Nat unit however unavailable for purchase unless you buy the info unit in its entirety.

sure thing I’ll get pic up for you once fitted 👍👍👍

Steve,
Nicely done! That looks great, just like the OEM "Piano Black" trim finish. It's a more modern look. I hope you do the same thing to all the other silver painted bits and pieces so all the trim matches. You might even want to wrap the (wood veneer/spun aluminium?) dash trim in gloss black to complete the Piano Black look. Just food for thought ...

Thanks Stuart

Good thinking , the info unit facia was the last piece of the puzzle as all my trim including the air con vents have been painted from that factory cheap looking grey to black in order to complete the look and yes it really has modernised the interior l

Got mine back from my indy after small service, sc nose replacement, sc oil change, spark plug change and 6% ss bolt-on pulley. They also showed me that my old pulley was not stock and a smaller 7.5% performance ali one

As expected (and reported by many) 3 of the plugs were a complete pita to remove. they had to soak them overnight with plusgas. When they were all off they found them to be in pretty good shape (see pic below). They said I could get them ultrasonically cleaned and put aside for the 210k miles

They also discovered coolant around the pump so replaced that as well along with the long SC coolant pipe which was brittle (all old parts were returned to me). There was quite a congealed mess in the coolant, but I suspect it was the original stuff from factory (Ive not topped up in my ownership). So system was flushed through 3 x

One thing they did say was that they had to put in twice as much oil in the SC that they took out. Oil condition was fine (still light amber) and they couldnt see signs of a leak....so I wonder where it went?? The original coupler was in a complete state but once changed there was still a slight ratrle from the SC, they suspect some bearing damage due to lubricant being too low....which may improve with the new correct oil level.

Based on the slightly larger pulley they said that I'll be down on power...until I have the tune done that is. But that's for next year

One thing I have noticed is that coolant takes a lot less time to come up to speed...perhaps due to the congealed mess stopping circulation?

It does look great. Is it paint for plastic specifically? Looks like it has some metal flake in it? I sense a winter project coming on for me.

Hey, I'd be interested in that, too...kinda disappointed it's not there by default...

From which store did you get it? How is it mounted?
Thanks for the info!!

Thanks Sean that terrible eyesore of a info unit is finally gone now and it looks completely factory

Yes your correct there is some very subdue flakes in there , I was thinking if I don’t like I can have it resprayed again nevertheless I quite happy with the result .

In terms of the paint it’s just a base coat then cleared , however make sure a plastic primer is used first which should be readily available at every panel shop as it’s applied to new bumpers , side mirrors , outer door trims etc

It looks like it didn't get snowed on, and was just driven on snow. It's an easy fix, just get a new set of Miche ... uh, tires.

( an inside joke)

That's worse than a salvaged title in my book. I'd only offer $7500.00.

Wait so why downgrade your pulley?

Cos I wanted a nice shiny SS one silly...doh!!

In truth even though I am happy with the power, I'll probs go for a tune in the Spring.

SC had to come off for new oil/belt/nose so they only charged me an hours labour for fitting the new pulley, if I'd chosen to have it done at a later date would have been 2-3hrs

Cee Jay, I'm so sorry to hear of this tragic event. It can no longer be advertised as "Never Seen Snow". I would match Ralph's offer but have to agree with Ted - totaled now imo.

What I can do though is offer you $7500 plus 2 nights and the Rmada Inn, Duluth, MN, with complimentary breakfast. Airfare not included. Blackout Dates apply - January 15 2021 - January 12 2022 - all other dates available. (FYI, that's not a TYPO, they can't afford a real Ramada Inn up there). It's been awhile for you since you last were there so I want to assure that absolutely nothing has changed in the decades since your departure:

Again, very sorry for your tragedy.

I remember when that Ramada was built, the rotating restaurant at the top was a major selling point. Also, my third wife is buried in Duluth.
What a hell hole, especially between September and May.

I feel sort of like the victim of a stalking now though......

Do I know you from way back?
I got the heebeejeebees now.

No, just in some previous thread where I mentioned I lived in Minnesota and you recalled that you lived in Duluth.

Still, guess I'm either weird or old, because I don't remember many details about members in here.
