What was the original rubber on a 2007 xkr
I am have what came with the car when I bought it a year and a half ago , continentals, hoping these are not original , nah can't be they are in to good of shape.
I believe that the OEM supplier was Dunlop. There's no way that your 2007 XKR with 60K miles still has the original rubber.
Your XKR has staggered wheels, with the rear tires wider than the fronts. That means you can't rotate the tires front to back, so most owners don't rotate them at all. To do so would require dismounting and recounting all 4 tires to rotate them side-to-side and keep the direction of rotation the same.
I don't rotate my tires and put that cost savings towards the cost of new tires.
Tire technology has improved greatly since 2007. You can buy much better tires today. Even if you could find a set of brand new OEM Dunlops for your 2007 XKR, they'd be way too old and dry rotted to safely drive on.

Here in the UK Jaguar cycled through 3 different tyre manufacturers in the life of the X150...Dunlop, Continentals and Pirelli IIRC.
Appreciate they bought where they could get the cheapest deal from a premium manufacturer, so would sell Jag tyres going forward at a discounted rate, who would then pass these onto their customers at a considerable mark-up.
There are still owners out there that will by their rubber, wipers and even their screenwash from a main dealer...why is beyond me!

If the Continental tires on your 2007 XKR are the DWS-06, I have them on my 2013 XJ 5.0LSC and have been very pleased with them. They replaced the OEM Dunlops and have much more grip, are quieter, handle great, and cost much less. I suggest that you keep the Contis if they are evenly worn and ride smoothly without vibrations.
I have the contis dws but they sometimes break free under hard exceleration at around 40 mph while in sport, can be unnerving. Tread looks good I will have to check dates to see how old they are.

I have the dws06 contis on my car and they hold better than mentioned but i had literally 3 of them develop sidewall bubbles.
i have Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s on my 00 XKR and they've been outstanding, just like the Bridgestone RE760S tires before. I had Michelin Pilot Sports of some variant on my XJR and they were the best of the bunch. I'd say the Bridgestones I've had (have them on 3 of my current cars) have been fantastic and the best overall value.

@Canadacat , It seems few use bridgestone's here. I've had this q for years. In part derived by F1 drivers prefering the Bridgestones over the Pirellis.
(BTW @HERE, I lied above, the car came with 20's. Not 19s)
From your location, (Used to visit the tech park close by, frequently) and If you prefer to just have 1 set of tires, and prefer to drive in 3 seasons (wet or dry) my experience is that the Contis and Michelin A/S, will suit well.
But these tires too, are very different in their 'demeanour'. Pedestrian feeling = Contis. Sport feeling = Michelin. (I'm going to get it from a few now, lol!)
Perhaps they have changed but my experience with Dunlop (which surprised me) is they were not gripping until warmed up, terrible in the cool wet (like summers Z's in the winter, slippery) and so noisy.
The Pirellis were awesome. but man, did I burn through those quickly. I'm up for a 3 season tire purchase this year and the jury is still out on which way I will go.
If you haven't caught it in my previous contributions I run 3 sets of tires. Summer, Spring/Fall, and Winter. Car came with 20s. Which are great if you're not dealing with On, Qc, upstate NY, NH ME, and MA roads in the spring, fall or winter ;-)
So now, Summer's are the 20s, I have 19s for the spring and fall, and 18s for the winter.
Cheers from Melbourne. Missing home dearly.

Probably the Dunlap's that very few owners replaced due to their really high replacement cost. JLR must have got a deal on the tires to go with them. Accountants wouldn't have green lighted them if JLR was paying on par with the replacement's cost.
