what size spare
#2
The wheel is a 19" Jaguar spare. There is NO 20" spare. The tire size is:
T135/70 x 19
I have attached photos of my Jaguar spare tire used on my 2009 XKR Portfolio w/ the Alcon brakes for your review.
You will also need to order a 7mm spacer for the wheel to fit over the Alcon brake caliper. Without the spacer the spare wheel will rub against the caliper. You can order at Motorsports Tech as they specialize in the making the spacer. The spacer is hub centric. 7mm ....5x108 Bolt pattern.... 63.4mm centerbore... milled aluminum.
Cost is about $40-50.00 USD, they are located in Nevada. Here's their link to make it easy for you.
Wheel Adapters, Wheel Spacers, Hub Rings, and much more! | Motorsport Tech
You will also need to buy the tool kit or jack. I also carry a 4 way lug wrench.
This info should help. These spare tire/wheels are very hard to find. I had mine shipped from the UK, bought the tool kit off eBay from an earlier MY Jaguar. I still carry a tire plug kit and a low priced compact air compressor that uses the 12V outlet.
FYI: Your wheel lugs for the new Braelins will be delivered tomorrow.

Excellent! Thanks for the details. I have a lead on a tool kit, thus far.

I had to get a spare tire for 2010 xk as mine had none. they are quite expensive. Checked around salvage yards on the net, hard to find but found one with tool kit shipped to me for $150. Got it from hollywood,CA. eliteautoparts@hotmail.com can email or look them up and call them, ask for rick, may want to check them out or other junk yards prior to buying.

Thanks for the lead. I'm working a couple of leads at the moment. If they don't pan out, I'll check with your guy.
Happy Motoring.....

Your wheel fits without the spacer because you do not have the Alcon brake calipers, which on the 2008-2009 were oversized brake calipers w/ huge rotors 350mm and 400mm respectively. On our 2008-2009 without the temporary wheel spacer, the spare wheel will rub against the rear caliper.

Richzak should have provided the link to the history of my quest for a compact spare for my 2009 XKR Portfolio with Alcon brakes that began in 2011. If you're interested, see: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-brakes-67260/
It would have been courteous of Richzak to have given me credit for doing all the work for finding the correct compact spare, toolkit, and the size and source for the custom made spacer.
Richzak failed to mention that there are 2 different compact spare wheels for late model Jaguars. One is red and the other is black. You want the 19" black one, as he indicated, since the red one won't fit. See my post #41 in the above referenced thread. My black spare came off a parted-out wrecked 2011 XJ Supersport in the UK. Again, thanks to Brutal for pointing me in the right direction.
Richzak also mentioned that he keeps a 4-way lug wrench in his trunk. I think that wrench is heavy, takes up too much space, is unnecessary, and won't properly tighten the nuts. In his post #1, he has pictures of all the components but there is no picture of how they all fit in his trunk. I doubt that all of them fit in the spare wheel well. Instead of a bulky 4-way, I recommend that you buy a torque wrench from Harbor Freight for $9.99 to keep in your trunk. The lug nuts should be torqued to 92 lb.-ft. See my post #28 in the above referenced thread. Since I already had several sockets that fit, I didn't need to buy a new one to keep on that torque wrench. Also, be sure to loosen the torque when the wrench is not in use.
Here's the compact spare, torque wrench in its hard plastic case (upper left corner), OEM 12v inflator kit as supplied by the factory with Alcon brake equipped XKRs (lower left corner), and OEM tool kit in the foam tray as installed in my trunk: The lid closes perfectly flat.
Since these compact spare wheels have been available for some time, you might be able to find one in a USA salvage yard. Look for parting out a Jaguar XJ Supersport or Supercharged. I haven't seen any on eBay (US), but they come up often on eBay.co.uk, which is where I bought my compact spare and toolkit.
My total cost for everything in my trunk was under $480, including taxes and shipping. This gives you a ballpark idea of cost, but you may be able to do better.
