What are these hookups in the glove box for?
Hi guys,
Can someone tell me what these hookups in the glove box are for? The red and white stereo wires look like I could run a media device to them, and the USB plug looks like it could power the device or is designed to take a software update for a component. But if it's the latter, what are the stereo inputs for?
Thanks.
Stereo left/right split plus a USB dongle - what are these for?

They are for the audio control module (aux input). I think that the switch will switch between aux input or USB input. You can put a pen drive containing MP3's in the USB port and play music from it.
There should be an Apple connector somewhere else in the car (usually the centre console) and you can add a Bluetooth dongle (Tune2Air/WMA100) to that to stream music from your phone.

iPod connectivity became standard in 2009, but the dealer-installed accessory Audio Connectivity Module provides similar functionality to the 2007 and 2008 models. There are many differences between years and models.

Your Personal Profile does not show the year and model of your XK but, as explained below, it appears that you have a 2007 or 2008. You should (1) update your Personal Profile to include that information and (2) create an automatic signature that includes the year and model of your XK and other details. That information is important so Forum members can give you accurate feedback.

As soon as I pick one out, I'll definitely upgrade my flair. :-)
You're right, this image came from a 2008, I believe. I hadn't seen it in the other ones I looked at, so that's why I was curious. Thanks for the input!
