A few weeks ago I had two extra Senta wheels straightened and refinished.
Somehow on the trip home one got the finish damaged so bad that I just couldn’t live with it.
Welp…the shop offered to touch it up for free which was really nice except that they are located on the far side of Austin and basically it would take me the best part of a day to have this handled, plus it was a touch up.
So…since I used to be in the restoration biz I pulled out my trusty Sata gun and rummaged through my paint cabinet. (the wheel repair facility indicated they used a ford silver color which I just happened to have) I had everything I needed except for an inline water trap.
I repaired the gouges on three spokes and decided to blend the silver and recoat the entire wheel’s clear coat. Removed the screws, scuffed the wheel, sprayed the silver base followed the 2K clear.
Life is good! I’ll install the now polished screws in a day or so, a new tpms, get new tires installed and be off to West Texas for a short break.
