Default Windshield defrost mode ?

Hi everyone.
Last day when I took the car I noticed the windshield was hot.
Since I have the Tesla screen, I don't have a virtual button to turn the defrost mode on or off...and thought that feature was lost...
So I wonder, is the defrost mode an automatic thing or is it a bug that I have it ON?
I'm scared this could drain the battery when driving...

Any answer welcome. Thanks.

You probably have a heated windshield. It runs when the rear window defroster is on. This is different from DEFROST on regular climate controls. I've not looked at the big screen, but I'd think a Rear (and in your case probably lower windshield) Defrost control would be present. It's pretty important.

My UK-spec car has separate buttons for the heated front and rear windows.

Tiepolo, the owner's manual states:
The front screen heater switches off automatically after 6.5 minutes. The rear screen and door mirror heaters switch off automatically after 21 minutes. The screen heaters can be manually deselected using the buttons. In cold ambient conditions, at the start of a journey, the front and rear screen heaters will switch on automatically for the timed period. The rear heated screen will come on at temperatures below -1°C (30°F) and the front screen will come on below 5°C (41°F).

Does this explain what happened?
